A:You haven’t said a word about my new hair-style. What do you think of it? B:I’m sorry I didn’t say/haven’t said anything about it sooner. I certainly think it’s pretty. Which one is correct? I think “haven’t said” is more proper because of the word “sooner”,without which I think both “didn’t say” and “haven’t said” are acceptable.
