Dig another hobby.

Hi,

Someone asked me whether I have any hobbies and I said I like learning English and she asked if I still have more hobbies, I answered like this, I wonder if “dig another hobby” is fine here?

I don’t have much free time to dig another hobby; I am quite busy.

Thanks a lot

That's an odd use of "dig". "Take up", "take on", "pick up" or "pursue" would work better, in my opinion, in a formal conversation. For more casual conversations, "get into" would probably work.

"Dig" is fairly dated (it was going out when I was a teenager 40 years ago). It means "enjoy / like / understand".
