"has achieved the *license/qualification* to practice as a Dentist"
How can I translate "diploma"?
In the guidance note this diploma is referred as "the documentation listed under the Certificate accompanying the evidence of qualifications columns"; so, how can I use the word certificate?
Thanks
Hello!
Not as easy as it seems! However:
...is qualified to practice as a Pharmacist/Dentist - è abilitato all'esercizio della professione...
We would say (BE):
He's a qualified Doctor/Dentist, but if we say someone's a
Chartered Accountant (Commercialista) we leave out
qualified because that's what
Chartered means anyway in this case and I'm sure there are other examples of this kind of thing, which escape me presently..
Abilitazione is often translated
certificate or
qualification and I think
diploma di abilitazione would be translated the same way.
However, let's wait and see if anybody else come up with something better!
