Direct address to one's heart...

Hi everybody, working on my not so typical translation I came some problems that I'm afraid I can't solve without your help.

Is it possible to address something as metaphorical as a heart or soul directly and then refer to it as "you".

For example,

Heart of mine, you’ll never be a-beating

or

Oh my life, have you been just a dream,,

Yes, like Socrates' last words before drinking the hemlock: "My life, I love you!" (veli can tell us what "Zoë mou, sas agapo!" is in Greek...)

This question is the one I was answering in my previous post.
