When translating the English word "discovery" using Morfix, it gives two words, תַּגְלִית, גִּלּוּי.

What is the difference in meaning/usage between the two?

גילוי has a wider variety of meanings.

תגלית is usually used specifically for a scientific discovery or something similar to that. It is used in other contexts, but more as a metaphor, I believe. (and, of course, is the name of the popular program for foreign, mostly American, Jewish youth to visit Israel)

    Hope that helps.
