distinguishing between "no way" and "no chance"

Senior Member
Hi everyone,
I'm confused about their meaning and usage. I saw an example in macmillandictionary:
‘Are you inviting Phil to your party?’ ‘No way!’Can an I use "no chance!" as a reply?

Does it matter if I use a "." instead of "!" ?

    Welcome the the forum.

Yes, 'no way' and 'no chance' are interchangeable.

The exclamation mark adds emphasis over a mere full stop/period. Basically, if it's said in an animated way, it would be a good idea to demonstrate this by using the exclamation mark. If it's just said flatly, a full stop could be equally appropriate.
