Someone riding a horse finds his mount collapsing, and then:

He frantically dived clear, rolling when he hit the floor

What's the meaning of "diving clear" here?

Does it mean jumping forwards blindly, as if for dodging the hit? Lanzarse, precipitarse al aire, al vacío?

    clear , en esta frase, indica que se tira para evitar que el caballo se le caiga encima.
    "Se salvó tirándose del caballo..."
