I'm just learning Spanish and am getting confused...

Addressing a woman named Mary Smith and wanting to show respect for her because she is older. Do you address her as

"Dona Senora Smith" or "Senora Dona Smith"

OR, "[Senora Dona] Mary"?

Help!

Thank you :)

    Hola:

I would say "Doña Mary Smith" or "Señora Smith". I would use both words at the same time.

    Cheers.

    Doña + first name
    Señora + surname
So: "Doña María" or "Señora Smith"
If you use both, it would be "Señora Doña María Smith"

I wonder if any of you know if the title of the novel "Doña Bárbara", from the Venezuelan writer Rómulo Gallegos, has a fixed translation in english, or if they just use the same spanish title in english speaking coountries.

    Thanks for your help!
