Do all countries conduct a census?

I was under the impression that a census is forbidden by the French constitution...

Exactly as we said a census is possible, and done. What may be difficult is making statistics on religion and/or race.

In the Netherlands we have civil registration. We don't have censuses anymore. The last census was in 1971. For privacy reasons and the trauma of World War II, it was discontinued in the 1970s.
