Do you pause before or after the infinite to while reading?

Sample sentence, I will use slash "/" to indicate a good place to pause.
I need to talk about it.

Which one would you prefer.
1) I need/ to talk about it.
2) I need to/ talk about it.

In my opinion I think 1) is right.
The sentence was merely made up, because I want to know some rules about pausing when reading a long sentence.
What do you think?
Thank you very much:)

I doubt there is much need for any pause in this sentence. The "to" gets very shortened and almost lost in normal speech when I test out your sentence.
