Does "improvisational" exist ?

Hi everybody !
In the American novel i'm translating, there's this sentence : "no time to read my lines ! Must improvise ! Alert ! Improvisational chitchat, now !"
Does "improvisational" exist, as an adj., or is it totally made up by the author ?
