Hi,

- Does it grate on your ears what I am saying?

- Does what I am saying grate on your ears?

I have tried to create two sentences. Are these two sentences the same in terms of word order?

Thanks.

Of course they are not the same in terms of word order, boggiee. You changed the word order of the first sentence when you wrote the second sentence.

The second sentence sounds like a normal question to me. The first sentence uses "what I am saying" as an afterthought. That version sounds a little odd to me although it is possible.

In the first version, there are two subjects "it" (which represents "what I am saying") and "what I am saying."

Does what I'm saying grate on your ears? :tick:
Does what I'm saying grate on your ears what I'm saying? :cross:
