I made up these paragraphs myself.

Paragraph 1:

"There are a few advantages to coal as a source of energy. First, it is inexpensive. Secondly, coal is very reliable in generating energy in various uses. ...

Paragraph 2:

"One the other hand, coal does not come without a number of detrimental side effects. The main disadvantage is the pollution that coal creates when being burned. Another drawback of coal is the efficiency that it produces as an energy source."

Does "one the other hand, coal does not come without a number of detrimental side effects" work naturally as a transitional topic sentence? (Of course, I would like to know if this sentence is correct first.)
