Hi everybody!
As I refer to population, is it correct to use itself?
The phrase is the following:

French girls are, in fact, sadly famous for being one of the population who doesn’t groom itself carefully

or

French girls are, in fact, sadly famous for being people who don't groom themselves carefully.

Thanks in advance!

Your first sentence is incorrect. The second sentence is grammatically correct but isn't very colloquial. I might say something like:

"French girls, in fact, are famous for failing to groom themselves carefully."

    or

"In fact, French girls are infamous for their poor grooming habits."
