Hi everybody,

I would say that I ate I delicious dessert/candy and it was so tasty that I took a double ration, but I don't want to use "double ration".

I would like to use "twice".

How can I say?

It was so tasty that I ate twice.

Is it correct?

"I ate twice" sounds odd, something like a cow would do by returning partially-digested food to its mouth and eating it again. I'd probably say "... that I had seconds" or "... that I had a second helping."

    Cross-posted.

We would never say double ration in that context, so you definitely want to say something different.

    I had a second helping. = I had seconds.
