Does 'doughty' have any other meaning than 'hardy, resolute'?

Here is the context:

‘I find much of myself in food,’ observes Johannes, holding his crabbing fork aloft. Nella, staring at the shining silver chargers and the doughty jugs of wine, wonders what he means.

    No, that's all it is, and it's not in common use, just a dictionary or old literary word now. So your guess is as good as ours about how jugs of wine might be doughty.
