drag him/her

In the series Prison Break, two inmates who are brothers are talking together about someone named Veronica who is one of the brother's ex.

Brother 1: I was just being stupid. Hurt. Shouldn't have pushed her away, though.
Brother 2: You pushed everyone away.
Brother 1: I'm an anchor. All I'll do is drag him down with me.

Here's a link to the transcript: http://prisonbreak.wikia.com/wiki/Pilot_(episode)/Transcript

They're talking about ''her'', why does he use ''him''?

That's not what the transcript says (drive them). Looks like your transcribers make errors. It's probably "drag them" or "drag 'em" (which sounds somewhat like "drag him") - them = everyone, not just her.
