-- Everybody, this is Ted and Annette Fleming. Ted has a small carpet-cleaning business in receivership. Annette's drawing a salary from a deferred bonus from two years ago. They got 15,000 left on the house at 8 percent. So they're ok!
Ghostbusters, movie

Explain to me the phrase in bold, please. Especially -- a deferred bonus from two years ago. Thanks.

Two years ago Annette was given a bonus, but rather than receive the money, she had payment deferred (delayed). She is now currently receiving a "salary" (not the word I would have used) drawn from that deferred compensation.

That is, it tells us when the bonus was deferred, but not when she started drawing a salary from that, right?
