drinking vodka right from the/a bottle

< Previous | Next >

On Halloween, a girl dressed up in Raggedy Ann drinks vodka. Amy tells Charley:
-- Oh, look. Raggedy Ann is drinking vodka right from the bottle. People think if they put on a costume, they can just get away with anything they want.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, TV series

Article THE is used because it's a specific bottle, the one the vodka was sold in. However, you would say: "she's drinking vodka from a (shot) glass", because it could be any one, am I right?
Thank you.
