dripping with dawn

Dear all
Does "dripping with dawn" in the following contex, taken from "The Three Soldiers" by Dos Passos, means that there were lots of early morning dews in the woods in a poetic language?
The woods were grey and dripping with dawn. Chrisfield got stiffly to his feet from the pile of leaves where he had slept. He felt numb with cold and hunger, lonely and lost away from his outfit.
