Driving a car without license (was/is) the most perilous thing they have ever done. (And I wrote this sentence by myself to use the word 'perilous'..is it okay?)

    "Perilous" means "dangerous". Driving without a license is not dangerous. But the sentence uses "perilous" correctly.
