Cette fleur est spéciale parce qu'il peut survivre dans chaud, sécher le temps



My question regarding this sentence is that since I am trying to say "dry weather" can i also say it as " le temps sec" which my friend told me but I am not sure if this can work but originally I still feel that the proper way of saying it is "sécher le temps." Any feedback on this.

    Do you mean the flower can resist dry weather?
    elle peut survivre à la chaleur et au temps sec/à la sècheresse.
