    Hello friends,

I was wondering which of the following is better: during his PhD defense or in his PhD defense. For example:

During/In his PhD defense, he presented his improved results obtained in his research.

    There's a difference of emphasis.

During stresses the time it took him. In his defense points out the occasion when he presented these results.
