E.R.E - équipe à responsabilité élargie

    E.R.E Equipe à Responsabilité Elargie means a larger group of workers and cadres than usual, for example to solve problems or plan work in a factory. Is there a name for that in English?

    There are very vew online sources but from what I gather, the term seems to refer to a team of people with a wider/broader scope of responsibilities, not so much to a larger team.
    A clearer definition (or maybe a more common terminology) might be useful...
