Hello!

In an Egyptian series I've heard something like كربز or كرابز [kar-baz] when one character described another person that is chubby, plump, fat.

What is the correct word that I have misheard and what's the concrete meaning?

Thanks.

This might be the word you're looking for, but if you could provide more context, or even the series, episode, and time when this word occurs, we might be able to say for sure.

Not sure if this is much help, but in Levantine dialect, karbooj can mean a cute person with chubby cheeks (even a flirt). For example, if you see a cute baby with chubby cheeks, one can say شو كربوجة! So perhaps you heard karbuj and not karbuz. Unless karbuz is an Egyptian version of the Levantine karbuj/karbooj.

Thanks. If I hear it again, I'll try to be more attentive.

Family Matter, Season 1, Chapter 1, minute 4:29 (you can see it at Shadid.net). Maybe there is the "mi" at the beginnning of the word, but I just hear "karbaz".
