    Hi!

I'm not sure about the translation of this sentence. I'm trying it:

On the first day of April, a festival is celebrated in my village.

    Is it correct?

    Thanks!

On the first day of April,we celebrate a festival in my village.

consider ,,,"our village." instead of "my Village"

    Or:
In my town we have a festival on the first day of April.

You can use village if you want, but it's not a word commonly used in the US since it generally refers to a small rustic/minimally-developed settlement (but perhaps that best describes where you live?) :)

In Mexico villages are more common than towns, each village has special festival days celebrated with a parade featuring various queens and saints. for several days the village center will be filled with bands, mariachis, and carnival stands and maybe for a special treat, a Castillo. Most of the towns are too big for all this excitement.
