Embark in a poem

Hi,

I was wondering if the word "embark" made sense in the following context:

I wish I could have you back
Hold your hand just one more time
But I know that's all a lie
A dream in which my mind embarks.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. it's poetry - anything can happen, and all bets are off.
You are likening the dream to a craft in which your mind may be transported around, or to a vehicle in which your mind may travel in style (or not).
Alternatively, by changing 'in' to 'on', the dream becomes an ocean upon which your mind sets sail, or an odyssey which your mind is about to undertake.
Whether such images are suited to your ode is for you to decide.
