Hello everyone! Here are my sentences:
Robben Island is a place that/ which/ Ø tourists can visit.
They visited a cell where Mandela spent 18 years.
My issue: Why can't I use "where" instead of "that" or "which"in the 1st sentence?
Is "that" a relative pronoun here or a subordinating conjunction?
Both where and that refer to a place and I don't get what's the difference.
Thanks for your help!
