Hi,
I'm trying to describe a situation in a soccer/football game but I'm having some trouble with the vocabulary:
Target audience is Northamerican people (not British).

Spanish:
"En la última jugada, el equipo 'X' mandó/tiró el balón fuera, por lo que el equipo 'Y' sacó de banda/corner/etc."

My try:
"In the last move, The team X threw the ball out of the game court, so the team Y kicked off/served the ball."

Not sure if the translation above is correct for these words: jugada, mandar/tirar el balon fuera, sacar el balon de banda/corner/porteria.

*Nota de moderación: por favor, tal y como establece la regla 2, haz una pregunta por hilo. Asimismo, el título de tu hilo ha sido modificado. Gracias.
Great thanks.

  • Some corrections & suggestions:

"In the last play, The team X kicked/knocked the ball off of the field, so the team Y had a corner kick."

As far as "sacar el balón de banda/corner/portería", that is three questions in one. You should look up those words in our dictionary to try to find the answers in previous threads. For example, look up portería and scroll to the bottom of the page to see a list of threads with that word in the title. If you can't find the answer to your question, you can open a new thread about it.
