Hi all,

I would like to translate this sentence from French to English:

"La plupart des lombalgies sont dues à ... ".

My translation is the following:

"Most low back pains are the result of ... ".

However, when I google this sentence, I can only find:

"Most low back pain is the result of ... ",

which does not seem correct to me.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Many thanks.

"Low back pain" is ambiguous. It could be interpreted as "slight back pain".
    Suggestion:
Pain in the lumbar region is mainly due to ...
Pain in the lumbar region results mainly from ...

"Low back pain", or "lower back pain", sounds clear to me. For many people, it would probably be more understandable than "pain in the lumbar region".

To translate the original phrase (la plupart des lombalgies), it would probably be better to reword it a bit as "pain" is typically uncountable in such contexts:

most cases of lower back pain
    most lumbagos
