en marge d'une mobilisation

Hello,
I'd like to translate the following sentence (from an academic paper):

Des adolescents ont été interpellés par la police nationale en marge d’une mobilisation lycéenne.

> Teenagers were taken in for questioning by the national police on the sidelines of a high-school mobilization.

I could simply use "during", but then we wouldn't know if they were part or not of the high-school mobilization (they weren't).

Thanks

    Looks fine.
But Mobilization sounds very French... To me, rally would be the right word... * "a high school rally".
But that has an American connotation...
So, * "a high school demonstration".
