enabled v. open

"If you have file sharing enabled on your computers, disable it as well to protect the rest of your network."

Hi, instead of "enabled" used above, would we use open/opened, i.e. ... opened on your computers ...

    No. The verb here is "enable". You do not "open" or "close" "file sharing", you enable or disable it. "File sharing" in not a program - it is a capability - you can also allow or prevent or disallow "file sharing."
