Hello Everybody!
Could anybody please help me out with this sentence:

"J'aurais été enclin à penser que les métallurgistes ou des gens comme ça l'auraient fait, pas une pignée de gens à qui on cassait la figure à l'université parce qu'ils tenaient leur journal"

My translation:
"I would have been proneto think that steelworkers or people like that would have done this, not a handful of people who we (used) to beat up at university because they were holding their newspaper

Does this sound alright?

    Well it's a quote of Michael Moore...talking about the writers' (WGA) strike. And I suppose it was a rather colloquial expression. Should I go for "have the tendency"?

    If he's american, i definitely recommend "have the tendency" ...
