Hello:

1. I have enlisted the help of my neighbor in writing this letter.
2. I have sought the help of my neighbor in writing this letter.

What is the difference between #1 and #2? Is "enlist" more active than "seek"?

'Enlisted the help' tells me the neighbor did help you.
'Sought the help' tells me you asked for help but whether or not it was given is not totally clear.
    One assumes it was given.

For me the verbs are equally active.
