    German - Germany
    entidad federativa
This is written on a official document for the registration of a marriage, indicating obviously the county or something like that of where the authority is placed. How am I supposed to translate it?

If the doc is from México it just refers to the State--just like California or Bayern. Mexico is a Bundesrepublik (Estados Unidos Mexicanos) and each state that is an element of the República Federal is called an ente federativa...

I found a translation as "federated entity" instead of "federal entity", what do you think about this?
