entrar no jogo

"Noite alta é grande e me come. A ventania me chama. Sigo-a e me estralhaço. Se eu não entrar no jogo que se desdobra em vida perderei a própria vida num suicídio de minha espécie."

I think this is something other than "enter the game" and wondered if anyone had any better suggestions for how to translate it.

Yes, that's true, but it would have to then "enter" or whatever some thing that could then desdobrar, if you see what I mean ... And I don't think you can engage "into" something - you engage "with" - but then that leaves open the question of what to do with "jogo." Any ideas?

"Os meninos estavam relutantes no início, mas depois entaram na dança e participaram da brincadeira." Does anyone know how it would be in English?

    Eis uma opção:
"The kids (crianças, ambos os sexos) were loth / reluctant at the begining, but after they get into the dance and being part of the fun/frolic."

Penso que essa pergunta deveria estar noutro "fio".

tradução livre: The children were reluctant at first but then they started dancing and playing too.
