In the context of putting up a flag on the moon, what's the best verb to use?

I hope to land on the moon one day so I can put up our nation's flag. I can erect our nation's flag.
...install our nation's flag.
...set our flag?

Thanks for your comments!

    American English
You don't erect a flag, you erect a flag pole.
You can put up a flag; there doesn't have to be a pole there already.
You don't install or set up flags; you could install a flag pole, but erect would be better.
