Hello everyone.

Can you help me fill in the right word? :)

I thought I'd returned all the books but for some reason that one ?????

slipped out/through?

I want to say that that one book escaped my notice.

I would not use "slipped out". If I were to use "slipped through", it needs to be followed by a further explanation (where did it slip through?).

Frankly, I would say "slipped through the cracks". This is a very common idiom meaning exactly what your circumstances are.

Thank you so much, Dimcl. This is exactly what I was looking for. :)
