Etaler la pâte dans une tourtière

I'm translating a recipe and I'm having trouble with the sentence : Etaler la pâte dans une tourtière de 28 cm de diamètre.

Here's my suggestion : Roll out the pastry in / on ? an 11 inch pie dish.

Don't hesitate to correct my work, that'll help me a lot.

    Lay the pastry in....
    Line (the.... dish) with the pastry.

    Rolling the pastry out would presumably have already been done on a floured board with a rolling pin?

    By the way, I know "spread" is often used for "étaler", but I don't think it sounds right with pastry.
    Let's see if anyone else has an idea!
