What is the etymology & make-up of کارا/kārā "efficient" please, is it a verb-derived word analogous to دارا/dārā "holder/possessor", گذرا/gozarā "what passes" , روا/ravā "what goes, permissible"?

Of course for the above to be true کار/kār "work" must have been the present stem of a verb which is no longer productive, the nearest verb to it is کردن/kardan "to do/perform"

I doubt if it is a compound made up of : kār "work" + ā "the present stem of آمدن/āmadan "arrive/come", as hinted at by some dictionaries.

Thank you.
