Here is a complete sentence : Our staff has done examinations on this alloy.

I usually treat "on" as something is stand on something like standing on a stage or ground.. something like that.

When I read the sentence, it makes me think like there is a staff doing examining something on alloy. But it does not make sense.

Please tell me what this sentence says . Thank you in advance.

    Thanks for your reply!! I get it , so it can be "examine something" equals to do examination on something
