Please consider the two sentences below. Which on is correct grammatically? Do both of them have the same meaning?

I am excited to join your group.
I am excited about joining your group.

I wanted to try to say that I am happy because I am going to join your group.

Thank You

I think that the first option is better for use before joining the group and the second for when you have joined and are expressing the excitement to people in the group...
    That's my personal opinion.
