Dear all,

Some say that exposure to high-voltage power lines causes various health problems in the long run.

I made it up. Does exposure always involve physical contact to the matter, object, or substance? In this sentence, would living pretty close to those lines be included in 'being exposed to' those lines?

    Hi, wanabee.

You don't have to touch a high-voltage power line to be exposed to it. If the line and its energy field affect you physically, you can say that you have been "exposed" to the line.

In this sentence, would living pretty close to those lines be included in 'being exposed to' those lines?
Yes. You can say that you have been exposed to the lines if you live near those lines and they have affected you or damaged your health.
