His lifeline extended only seventeen-and-a-half feet.

Is there anything wrong gramatically in this sentence?

Off the top of my head, i guess that "extended" have to change into "extended to"....

    It sounds fine to me, although I don't understand anything about the context, which could be relevant to choosing between "extended" and "extend to", for instance.

    I'm not sure whether it's necessary to hyphenate "seventeen and a half" (I wouldn't personally).
