    Good day everyone,
I'm trying to translate "farmaco dependiente" into english.

My guess is "drug addict" but in this case they're referring to an old lady who takes pills to sleep and that sort of things, so that's why I'm not sure that "drug addict" is the correct translation.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

I think is a "drug addict" like you said (addicted to pills/prescription pills/drugs).
    Pharmaholic is just a slang.

It's a person who is addicted to one or more prescription drugs.

For example, addicted to pain killers or tranquilizers.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies !!

    All have been very useful.

I think "addicted to sleeping pills" instead of "drug addict" would work better in this case.

    Thanks a lot
