Bonjour! Hi!

est-ce que je traduit bien "faire la chasse" si je dis "to hunt"?... le texte est sur un match de boxe.
am I translating correctly "faire la chasse" when I say "to hunt"? the text is about a boxing match.

" Si tu veux me faire la chasse, garde tes mains hautes ou je vais t'envoyer au plancher."

merci beaucoup / thank you so much...

    Salut Martha!

Bien que "to hunt" soit la traduction 'correcte', il ne me semble pas etre la meilleure dans ce contexte. Je dirais peut-etre "to chase me down" (ie, "if you want to chase me down, keep..."). Mais je ne suis pas expert en boxe...

I would think "coming after me" implies some distance to be covered, at least metaphorically. Given the context, envie's if you want to come at me seems best.

Perhaps If you're gonna come at me ... ?

    hello all!
i thank you so very much for all your kind answers, but i forgotten to mention that i am translating the text to portuguese... so all those details in english change dramatically in portuguese, most of them don't even make sense... for instance, "to hunt" and "to chase me down" are exactly the same thing: "caçar", "caçar-me"...
so i was just trying to understand the sense of the expression... hey, maybe i should start a forum french/portuguese? :) i'm afraid i would propably be a bit alone, talking to my shoes... :)

You can use the French Only (Français Seulement) forum to ask for information about a French phrase if you're not interested in English translation.

That doesn't really make any sense, but whatever. In future please be clear what you're looking for. I'm sure you'll agree that no one is here to have their time wasted.
