Hello! A Sunday morning question for you:

In the online Guardian Unlimited today, I read: "The Archbishop of Canterbury has welcomed the decision to scrap plans to make new faith schools take more children from other religions."

What are "faith schools"? Does the term refer to religiously oriented primary and secondary schools, to institutes leading to ordination or the equivalent (seminaries, yeshivot), to something else? Does it refer to all religions or just to Christian denominations (or maybe just on non-Christian religions)?

Thank you!
