Fall hoodie formal

Hey everyone!

I saw a post on Instagram of an american high school student where there are three teens smilling at a photo wearing hoodies. Behind them there is a big and shinny blue fabric with a banner that says: "Fall Hoodie Formal". The background seems to be of a high school dance party and I assume it is a reference to the american school balls and parties, making some kind of joke that the "formal dressing" that is required in the fall are hoodies. Could this banner mean something else: "Fall Hoodie Formal"?]

Thanks a lot!

 This interpretation of Fall Hoodie Formal makes perfect sense. The students at this dance will apparently be wearing hooded sweatshirts rather than gowns or tuxedos.
