hi all members,

I am reading The Hunger Games and come across this sentence -

Suddenly he falls into a Capitol accent as he mimics Effie Trinket, ...

I have checked this phrase up in the dictionary but the meaning made no sense to me. May I know what 'fall into' means in the above sentence?

Thank you!

It means he starts to talk in/he switches to.

(Imagine a series of slots which represent accents. If your voice falls into one of these slots, you have a change of accent. Compare the phrase to fall into place.)
