Hello,

for those of you who are native speakers of English out there, I hope you can help out a little bit.

Is asking, 'who are you closest to in your family?' the same thing as asking, 'who do you have the closest relationship with in your family?'

Or, is it really asking for the family member who live closest to you?

Could anyone clarify?

    You have it right the first time: it's about relationships. If we wanted geography, we would say "Who do you live closest to?"
